Hm.  Maybe it's because Contra and Super C use the same character sprites.

They only have the first level? That's kind of sad. Someone should do them a favor and rip the rest.

They're very similar, but they are not the same sprite:

Thanks for the info Uglyjoe. I'll maybe do Lance in the Contra 1 style to complete the two player set.

Oh and by the way, if anyone has requests, keep 'em coming. hint: do what uglyjoe did and post high res .png images of the sprites, preferably isolated from the background if possible. I'll be more driven to do specific sprite requests than say "do castlevania stuff".

Do Ness' "Fuzzy Pickles" pose from Earthbound.  Can't link right now, using my Wii.

Eleven years ago, There were 8 Megaman games and eight sets of robot masters.

However.....now there are 9!
Introducing what everyone's been waiting to see - Megaman 9's portrait set! Here's the fruit of my labour!

Portraits of the robots from the Wii/360/PS3 downloadable insta-classic, Megaman 9. From top to bottom, left to right: Concreteman, Jewelman, Hornetman, Tornadoman, Megaman, Plugman, Galaxyman Magmaman, and the lovely(?) Splashwoman.

Note that these sprites are color enhanced to reflect their original artwork and not the NES color pallet used in MM9. With this, I've completed all the portraits from the Rockman classic main series! Go me!

Boo......come on guys, lemme know what you think of the portraits. They took me a long time! Anyways....here's some more Famicom stuff.

The prince of darkness himself, Dracula as he appears in Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse. I was intending to do his Castlevania 1 sprite, but it is uggggggggggggly! the CV3 one is vastly superior.

Straight out of Greek mythology, Medusa is among the bosses you will fight in the superior Japanese version of Castlevania 3, Akumajou Densetsu. In the NES version, you still fight this boss, but it was edited to be male and thus lacks the boobs. Damn you Nintendo censorship!

I color corrected this sprite from its original red to reflect the colors Medusa traditionally is associated with. Also, her soundwave attack glows in the dark.

Lastly, a little Metroid:

Run for your lives, these things are f-ing scary! When doing this sprite, I tried many different things: filling in the inner section with clear see-through beads since Metroid are transparent afterall, I tried filling in everything with black and then I decided to fill in every black pixel where it would touch a colored one. The result turned out quite good. So much work for a little NES sprite!

Medisinyl

That Medusa is perhaps my favorite one thus far.  I still need to play through my CV3 on Famicom.  As for Metroid, I only really liked that game as a kid.

You didn't supply him with a picture.  I looked for one, but couldn't find one of good quality...or one that wasn't broken.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

Look on TSR, there's a spritesheet.  Can't send a pic from my DSi or Wii, and TSR is blocked at school.

I don't own Mother 2/EarthBound, so I don't know the sprite you want. You'll have to link me to it if you want me to take a look.

Anyway, here's another.

A staple of Castlevania as sure as Dracula himself, bead-sprite Death sports his Castlevania 3 appearance here with minor recoloring and minor changes to some of the taters in his cloak.
