Press "Click to Play" to, um, play... online... but also leads to a download link for the rom.
thanks,
it's just 256k UNROM. Pretty easy to convert ROM image into a cartridge.
any information about does it work against real h/w?
I haven't tried in on hardware yet, but I definitely ant to give it a go, I grew up with Dizzy games and really enjoyed them.
I'd love to have this on cartridge if someone can make it.

There is a kickstarter and one of the prizes is a NES cartridge version.
I am trying to see if they will also do a Famicom version (all of the Codemasters games were officially released on Famicom via BIC / Realtec) but so far, no dice.
You could easily just make your own Famicom version surely.
The programmer who compiled the source code into a playable game is still working on it to release a final "Final" version for the kickstarter backers and it will be released for free as well. That being said, people should wait it out before putting together a cartridge of the currently available rom.

I'm just saying that it would be nice to see some Famicom love as well as all of the NES love going around. After all, the Dizzy games were equally as officially released on Famicom as they were on NES. ;D

They really weren't.

Actually, they
were:

Considering the NES (Camerica-published) Dizzy releases were
unlicensed, their release is
exactly the same as the Famicom releases, published by Realtec / BIC (unlicensed Famicom releases).
The BIC/Realtec games were all properly licensed by their respective IP owners, they just weren't licensed by Nintendo for a Famicom release. That is a fun fact. Exact same situation as the NES Dizzy games, except for the fact that Realtec / BIC ultimately published more games.
For another fun fact, Realtec / BIC also manufactured the Camerica PCBs for the NES releases, but that is derailing the thread a bit too much I think.
Ah, in that case you are correct. I was remembering that the Dizzy games got an official, licensed release on the NES. But yes, since they were unofficially released on the NES and unofficially released on the Famicom, both indeed are equally official. Ie. 0% official. Carry on.

Watching the kickstarter video / the discovery video, it is somewhat confusing on this point, since there is mention of the "official" Kickstarter Wonderland Dizzy game going into a grey cartridge, like "would have happened if it were released back in the day". But that is just a small bit of incorrect information, since the games were released in Europe in several formats, and in the USA in gold Camerica carts.
I talked with the guy that was compiling the code, a Polish dude (home of Pegasus, and also most likely the largest market of the BIC/Realtec game releases, since they sure were hardly seen here in Taiwan), and I was hoping he would help campaign for an "official" Famicom release, such as what kickstarter backers can get with an "official" NES release, but so far no dice it seems. But one can always dream.

a bit different, read mapper description.
Works on my Everdrive, but with some graphical glitches. And the music is pretty bad, but I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to sound as the browser version doesn't work for me.
QuoteThe disc didn't contain the final, finished game, but it did have the source and the visuals, and after hooking up with Polish Dizzy fan Lukasz Kur, a working ROM image was forthcoming - and you can now play it online for free.
So, is it finished by now? :-X The article somehow doesn't if the game can be completed. Just hinting for you guys wanting to put the game in a cartridge.
I tested the game the other day - nice graphics, music is cool - but definitly not my kind of game :D

Did you get some flickering on the status bar? The music sounded sort of right, but somehow flat or in the wrong key. Not very pleasing to my ear, anyway :)
