I finally counted the games on the games lists to see how many were on there. But I was lazy about it and suck at math, so take this for what it's worth:
CARTS
licensed: 1093
unlicensed: 118
pirated: 24
total: 1235
DISKS
licensed: 211
unlicensed: 24
pirated: 1
total: 236
For pirated, I only include in the lists games that are considered "originals" or "extensive hacks" (in other words, not just the main character hacked) -- and certainly we don't yet know about all of the originals and extensive hacks out there.
UglyJoe, what numbers does our list show now? (I think we can get rid of the "pirated" category, since we're calling them unlicensed now.)
CARTS
licensed: 1079
unlicensed: 163
total: 1242
DISKS
licensed: 213
unlicensed: 37
total: 250
Weird that the number of licensed carts decreased. Wonder if it was somehow absorbed into the unlicensed cart number.
Dunno. It may have just been a miscount in your original numbers :P
Our licensed number is still higher than 1051, which I thought was the number of licensed carts: HERE (http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=1118.0). Perhaps it has something to do with the licensed releases, like Tailor-Made, etc., which never had retail releases.
