Title: Problem with FDS write mod
Post by: Peppe on September 26, 2023, 08:51:07 am
I have attempted the write mod for my FDS. It had the 7210 chip with Power Board-05. I successfully did it and for a time it worked fine, but now whenever I try to use my FDS, the disk drive is in a constant loading loop. I tried resoldering the wires and cutting the traces some more but nothing is working, what do I do?

You mean the drive constantly spins, even if the disk isn't in, or does it just try loading the disk forever when inserted?

yeah, the drive constantly spins, sometimes it stops but starts spinning right after

Hmmm, well, one time that happened to me, it was the 2SB1009 transistor (the one that looks sort of like a voltage regulator) on the power board.

Not a guarantee, though, as I don't think the drive ever actually stopped for me. Also, it began spinning immediately when power was connected.
