That's freaking awesome. Try typing GAME 0 or GAME 1, etc into the BASIC program and see if anything happens. I'd be curious to know what SYSTEM would do, too.
BTW, that's the message board (and I'd wager the music composer and calculator) from the Family Basic 2.1 cart.
GAME 0 and GAME 1 return a ?SN ERROR
SYSTEM brings you back to the G-BASIC Main Menu.
That's totally awesome!
DUDE. You've gotta take some pics. This thing sounds unreal.
Want to see. NAO. :P
Sounds really cool.

Hey 133MHz Could You Post Some Pics of Adventure Mario?
I did! Check under my Famipost, those are links, click them to see screenshots ;).
Well, here are some pics I've just snapped (click them for full size):

That's really cool.
And an N64 style cartridge :P
Two dollars you say? :o
Do other cartridges work on it, do you just need controllers, or can you control the game using the keyboard?
Can you take another picture of the controller ports, aiming directly at them? the other picture is at a weird angle. :P

Yeah, two dollars. I have several of those N64-style cartridges ;).

Yes, you can plug any Famicom cartridge and play, but you need controllers to play Famicom games. The keyboard is like the Family BASIC keyboard. The software cartridge's menu is controlled by the keyboard.

Heh. The title screen is taken from the intro from Section Z:

Thanks for the info :D. I'm looking forward to know more about this thing, specially the BASIC interpreter and related stuff.
The BASIC looks like it's ripped wholesale from Famicom Basic 2.1.
I've got a couple sprite demo programs written up here if you want to try them out:
http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=1906.msg23902#msg23902 (http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=1906.msg23902#msg23902)
That Space Harrier BGM code is somewhere in the forum archives, too. That one may not work, since it PEEK's some ROM values that may vary on your pirate cart.

sorry i didnt see that
Requesting video of the hello world application scripted in this g-basic you speak of. :P
Should be something along the lines of
10 ? "Hello World"
run
Hey UglyJoe, I tested the first sprite demo, it worked!
:o holy moly that is schweeeeeeeeeeeet!
Cool!
It's pretty similar to our current Brazillian "PC Game", by Dynacom!
The previous version was the "Magic Computer".
It's on the stores right now over here! :D
Take a look at this site: http://www2.dynacom.com.br/2006/mod2x.asp?sv=999956&lg=
Here's a video of my keyboard Famiclone printing some text on an ancient dot-matrix printer ;D

Very interesting, one day pirates will make an Internet-capable keyboard Famiclone.
I want a keyboard Famiclone, just for the weirdness factor.
133Mhz can hook you up. That's how I got mine!
Cool, does yours have a printer port like his does?
I won't be able to get it anytime soon if he has one, I've already got another Famiclone on the way from eBay.
Oh, and by 15-pin port, is that like the one on the front of the Famicom? Could you just use a controller like the Hudson Joycard? Or would you need something like a Micro Genius controller?

No, mine has no printer port.

It needs something like a Micro Genius controller, which I don't have. I can't make an adapter because the port is too deep for standard plugs to make contact, but I don't use it to play Famicom games so I don't really need such a thing.
Just curious Blue Protoman, how much did you pay for it? The only one on eBay right now is $50+ shipping.
$25. Don't know about shipping, though. You're probably not in my area.
Yeah, shipping would probably be killer.
133Mhz is in Chile. Where are you?
America, so how much did shipping cost for you?
I got two (one for my cousin). For one unit, shipping was $29. I'm on the East Coast, though. If you're on the West Coast, you might have to cough up a few more bucks.

great video dude!
Huge bump and kind of un-Famicom related, but what kind of dot-matrix printer are you using in that video? I know it's a Citizen, but which model?
You know... I just noticed the capital letters in the typing are from that old Famicom game "Hoshi Wo Miru Hito".

Citizen GSX-190. It's the only non-USB printer that I have and still works. Technically it should work with any printer that uses the old style parallel connection.
I love the sound dot-matrix printers make.
That makes us two :).
I do have some famiclones here hehe

A few questions:
1) This is an official Nintendo program that is being ran through the Famiclone, right? What is it called?
2) The above photo is obviously just a screenshot, but is there
any way to browse the internet on a famiclone or an actual Famicom?
3) Is there a PC program that emulates this Famicom word processor?
4) Does a mod or adapter exist that allows a Famicom keyboard to hook up to a PC?
Thanks! :D
