Title: How many NES top loaders and toasters were sold during their production runs?
Post by: satoshi_matrix on December 17, 2010, 11:10:14 pm
I am working on a editorial on the NES designs in North America and would like to know the North American sales figures for both designs, even if they're just estimates.

How many NES 001 "toasters" were sold in the system's run?

How many NES 101 "top loaders" were sold in the system's run?

thanks.

I know that, but I think that's a world wide figure and thats also for both and thus not really useful. WHat I want to know is how many were sold of each design.

Are you looking for a worldwide figure for each, or North American production only? I have some numbers somewhere, but only for USA production, so this precludes Canada and other NA regions

Additionally, Nintendo of America's press department, or even Nintendo Co., Ltd.'s press dept. could give you the most accurate information. All you need do is email them, explain what you.re writing and what you need, and they will likely reply within a short time.

It's funny, but I know more accurate numbers for Famicom revisions than for the NES revisions. You should also note that there are two revisions of the 'top-loader', with RF or with multi-connector (as SFC, SNES or New Famicom) out.
