Title: FDSLOADR cable issue
Post by: skere26 on April 28, 2012, 09:29:11 am
Hi Folks,

I've attempted to make an FDSLOADR cable using the handy guide on this site.  Instead of using an SNES port, I used one from a spare FDS system.  Anyway,  I soldered everything together, did a continuity test from each parallel pin to its corresponding port tab everything seemed groovy.  Well, the second I connect everything together, my RAM Card immediately thinks there is a disk in the drive and goes to the loading screen (well before starting FDSLOADR in DOS).  Do you gents have any suggestions? Maybe which pin(s) I need to double check?

Thanks!

Make sure you have the connections soldered the right way around, it's a common mistake to have them in correct order but as a mirror image. Sounds like the /MEDIA SET signal is being activated when it shouldn't be.
