My mistake, Cheetahmen. What platform is that for, anyway? I can't find anything with that title on GameFAQs.

I had a Master Chu cart and box briefly. I found it slightly above-average by Color Dreams standards, but not good enough to keep. I resold it. The Color Dreams/Wisdom Tree carts I've found collection-worthy are Baby Boomer, Crystal Mines, and Spiritual Warfare. I'm also holding a copy of P'Radikus Conflict, and am tempted to keep it as well. (I only keep the games I'll actually play.)

I'll be playing some new stuff tonight. I got my awaited package from manuel (with Pizza Pop! and Paaman 2), and I also picked up a few Genesis CIBs (including Battletoads) from a game store in town.

Ahh, Master Chu was actually created originally by Sachen. (Well, Joyvan. At least I think they're the same company.) My other Color Dreams cart is Captain Comic, which I think is... decent at best. Definitely didn't amuse me as much as Master Chu did.

Have fun with Pizza Pop as I did! That game is incredible, I'm telling ya. I've always wanted to play a Paaman game (either 1 or 2) so let me know if it's any good.

I thought it was one of the few Color Dreams games that didn't suck. (The other one being Crystal Mines, not counting games developed by Sachen)

I was just playing King's Knight. It's a good game, but the last level is pretty damn hard.

I'm currently playing Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. The "New" (Easy) mode only makes it slightly less frustrating.

Captain Comic is so-so; kind of a poor man's Metroid. Arguably better graphics at times, but the game is far less satisfying. I've actually played all three cart-variants: blue shell/standard label, blue shell/upside-down label, and black shell. It's the only black CD cart I've ever come across in person, which isn't surprising given that it's by far the most common. (This is excluding black-shelled Wisdom Tree carts, which are actually the norm.)

I found King's Knight pretty so-so, actually. King's Knight is a decent example of why Square nearly flopped as a company, and why it was good of them to switch to RPGs instead.

I just sunk a couple of hours into P'Radikus Conflict for NES. I got to the final mission, but the difficulty jumps pretty fast and I'm too tired to finish it. Maybe next time...

I also played some Bad Street Brawler (NES) earlier. Anyone here ever played it with a Power Glove? I have a Power Glove, but I've been too lazy to set it all up for this game. It's not a very good game, but it's one of those so-dumb-it's-funny kind of experiences.

99 Action & Arcade, mainly just because of how awful it is. I'll try to do a video on it soon, but all I'll say is that it's sort of like the 2008 equivalent of Action 52. :bomb:

I just spent some time with Uncharted Waters for the NES. I'm trying to decide if I'd want to keep the game. I've mostly been playing a lot of poker in the tavern. I think it's by far the most interesting of Koei's NES releases, but that's admittedly not saying much.

Got the urge to play some shooters tonight, so I did the unthinkable  and hooked up some consoles that aren't Famicom. I played the following:

Mushihimesama Futari (XBOX 360) Beat original arcade mode on Maniac difficulty.
Raiden Project (PS1) Played some Raiden II on this.

It's definitely strange to hear nightstar playing current-gen games. I just had my first taste of Pilotwings for the SNES. I'd heard good things about this, so I picked one up when I saw it cheap. It's not bad, but I'm not sure if I'll get into it.

Ax Battler, probably one of the few Game Gear games that isn't backported from the Mega Drive. From what I've played, it's good, but it feels like a slightly simplified Zelda II.

Trust me dude, the list of recent games I like is a very, very short one. It's pretty much just Danmaku shooters (such as ESPGaluda II and Mushihimesama Futari on 360), Super Street Fighter IV, and uhh... Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for PS2.  And that's about it. Oh and Arcana Heart for PS2, that game is incredible.

nightstar,

Hey, no need to explain yourself. I've got a PS2 with about 50 PS2 games and 50 PS1 games. Admittedly, I don't play it that much, and about 1/3 of my games are re-releases of vintage arcade games and the like. Another 1/3 or so are sequels to old-school franchises, like Final Fantasy X (which I really enjoyed). But I've also enjoyed the GTA 3 family of games, among a few other modern(-ish) choices. But like you, I'm far more passionate for the good ol' stuff.

Cheetahmen,

I've never played that one. I've got a few Game Gear games, but I'd like them more if there was a way to play them on a TV. Sega dropped the ball not making an accessory like the Super Game Boy. Admittedly, I will actually use a Game Gear on occasion, which is much more than I'll say for a vintage Game Boy. Those screens are a joke!

I last played a little Terra Cresta on my NES. I'm kind of torn right now on whether this is collection-worthy. The upgrades are pretty cool, but the game is pretty tough and repetitive. I'm not huge on overhead shmups, so I only tend to keep my absolute favorites.

With a little inspiration from nightstar, I just broke out my copy of Panic Restaurant (NES) and gave it a whirl. I met an icy end in the freezer stage. Those vents were not kind.

Ah, you made it to the freezer! I am proud to have inspired you to play that wonderful game. Although I love every single aspect of it, stage 5 is a definite candidate for my favorite part of the game. Right from the start, those ice-skating ice cream cones? Probably the most hilarious enemy sprite I've ever seen in a video game, the animation of them is brilliant, and they make me laugh every single time I play. The traps in that stage are ingenious, from the Popsicles that shoot from the ground and push you into the razor-sharp icicles, to the hanging frozen fish which try landing on Cookie. The boss is great too, just like all the bosses in Gourmet World. Such creativity and charm in that game, I'd say the only game which outclasses it in that regard is Kaiketsu Yanchamaru 2.... something about the graphics and music of Karakuri Land is just so bizarrely charming to me. Wonderful game, anyway. Hopefully next time you'll complete the game, and reclaim EaTen to its rightful owner.

I'm playing Bucky O' Hare on Famicom right now.
