More Wario's Woods (NES). Today was a good day: I hit stage 95 on Game A, and 80 on Game B. (Five levels up better on each.) I also shaved a few seconds off my Normal Time Trial.

Recently started Castlevania III! :o

This game is so great! Passwords between every stage helps a lot too. Constantly spawning enemies are still annoying though. ???

The CastleVania series is always a good choice. I haven't given a really serious effort on the third one yet, despite owning it for 15 years. I keep telling myself to beat the first one first, and it hasn't happened yet.

I just had my first serious, try-to-beat playthrough of Ninja Crusaders (NES). Wow, did that game humble me. I got no further than the third boss. I'll have to try this one again later. Well, back to more Wario's Woods.

Ninja Crusaders is a magnificent game! I don't know about you, but I like to use the high-damage but short-ranged spear up until 5-2, when I switch to the shuriken... but I grab the kusarigama before going into the final boss. The spear destroys bosses extremely quickly. I believe the third boss is the one you have to crouch the first hit, then quickly jump the second? If so, I'd recommend you learn that timing really well, because the final boss uses a similar pattern.

Yeah, the weapons will definitely take some getting used to. I fought the first boss with the staff, and was stunned when I killed it two blows. I was kind of liking the whip, but it just doesn't do enough damage. I'll have to be more careful with the weapons the next time I play it.

Yes, also something to keep in mind in case you didn't know, collecting a weapon which you're already using will give you a free 1-Up. This will give you more chances to learn the boss patterns.

Okay, Alucard is totally useless. Can anyone tell me why I even bothered bringing him along? ???

I had a good evening with Wario's Woods. I now have a Gold medal in the Normal Time Trial, to go along with my Gold in Easy. I then played some Game B and got all the way to level 97. I'll now be able to continue from level 95. I just need to beat the last five stages of Game A and Game B and shave 15:15 off my time in the Hard Time Trial and I'll have 100% completion of the game.

Oh I see, he can fly.

I also see Konami took inspiration from the Mega Man games in how if you don't have said flying ability, life is going to be hell from here on out.

P

Yeah he is a bit hard to use at first but his flying ability are very handy.

Last game I played: Portrait of Ruin
I like this game more than Dawn of Sorrow (and maybe about par with Aria of Sorrow). You can use both the vampire killer AND other weapons!

I had another good run on Wario's Woods yesterday. I wasn't getting anything done on Game B, so I took a crack at the Hard Time Trials. I wound up knocking almost 12 minutes off my time, which puts me within 3 1/2 minutes of a Gold medal (and with that, total completion of that entire section of the game). It was definitely something of a confidence booster, since I was able to complete the last (five-round) section of that Time Trial four out of five times (and topped my best time three times). It took me more than a dozen tries to even complete it the first time about a week or so ago, so it was a pretty good measuring stick of my improvements at this game.

Good stuff, Nerdy. You seem to have a great deal of passion for that game. I like it, I found the bosses to be rather difficult. I suck at puzzle games.

I last played some Super Street Fighter 4 ranked matches on 360... mostly used T. Hawk, Guile and Balrog, and I'd say I won about 95% of my matches. Pretty good considering it was the first time I've used the 360 pad for SSF4 in a long time.
