Does anybody know any new/modern replacement module for the Game Boy Color DC/DC converter board, signed "U5"?

I can't seem to find one that supplies power to the original LCD. Have you considered doing a screen replacement? Then you can use the available switching 5V regulators.

I might have a spare gbc motherboard somewhere i can pull a working regulator from, if you need it

Well, if there won't be any other option, I will definitely look into a screen-mod. Just trying to keep it as close to the "original" as possible, you know, for now.

Speaking of which - do you know what would be the best screen replacement kit out there which is still widely obtainable?
