Ok.  Didn't think you knew that.   I hear people a lot of the time calling the Atari an 8 bit system just because it's old.

The Atari 2600 uses an 8 bit microprocessor (a cut down version of the 6502) so it technically is an 8 bit system, but when people mention "Atari 8 bit" they're usually referring to Atari's home computer line (400-800-XL-XE).
