So your friend gets the flu.  Do you...

1)  Continue with your original weekend plans and bring them over to your apartment to cook dinner together?

2)  Cancel the plans and reschedule for later, since the flu is contagious, you don't want to get it, and they could get more rest?

Flu season has apparently started in Taiwan, and I did not get a flu shot.  Let's discuss our thoughts on the matter.  :)

Well, I don't think anyone with the flu will be even remotely interested in hanging out, especially not cooking and eating food.

In my experience, someone with the flu will be the one cancelling plans.

A possible X-factor that isn't included in your original post is your immune system. How good is it? Do you get sick often after being exposed to other sick people?

I've always thought that my immune system was pretty good, though since I now work with a bunch of children, I am exposed to more germs and sick more frequently than in years past.

The friend in question was quite angry at me for wanting to cancel these plans, but I felt it quite selfish of them to want to keep the original plans, after learning that they had gone to the doctor who said they had the flu.  I've always thought getting the flu was somewhat of a big deal, but I've never had it thus far, luckily.

In my country every year we get vaccinated from flue if we want... if by ''flue'' You mean the illness (that bad one when person feel pain in whole body, has a fever and almost can't get out of bed).

And the question is : Do i continue with plans and bring a friend to my apartment to cook dinner?  lol ;D

Reschedule the flu is not fun and if you work with kids and one of them gets it it can be quite devastating.
Also what sort of relationship do you have with this person and is that relationship worth the risk of the flu?

P

I agree with Ericj and Nerdynebraskan. If they really got the flu usually they wouldn't be up for it. But if it's ok with the person, I would probably just continue on as I usually don't get sick and never got the flu. On the other hand I agree with you that if you know you are sick it's kind of selfish of you to continue and risk infecting other people.
