Would it be possible to mod a Wii sensor bar to plug into an NES controller port, so that I could use the Wii remote as a zapper on an HD TV?  If so, anybody willing to give it a try, and for how much? Just wondering, one way or the other.

The sensor bar doesn't actually "sensor" anything. On the front of the bar is just two clusters of infrared light sources. These light sources are read by the wii remote (and the wii remote is connected wirelessly to the wii). You don't even need the sensor bar. You can use two candlelights! I guess it would be possible to mod the sensor bar to be powered by your NES, but that wouldn't connect your wii remote to your NES.

You would need to mod the game to have a longer white flash, about 3x longer. That would cripple the gameplay though. :/

Uninvited Gremlin you mean to get a Zapper to work on an LCD TV? Because it wouldn't help the Wiimote. What Drwily said is totally correct. To get a Wiimote to work on a Famicom game you would have to make the game communicate with a bluetooth module that can connect to the Wiimote.
