I have an FC3, I finally bought a gyromite with an adapter, I believe the adapters in right in everything, shaved the plastic down a bit, put in a bootleg game, put it in my FC3, turned it on, nothing. Squares of colors. Removed, checked everything, put it back in carefully, again nothing. Removed, put in another bootleg game, put it in, nothing. Repeat but turn switch on back from O to J for import games. Nothing. Tried with an original Famicom game, nothing. Sooo does FC3 not work with famicom games? Checked my console, runs fine with American NES games. I did notice the adapter 72 pin part looked like some pins were slightly bent... wonderinf it this matters or not and if so if I somehow bent it and didn't notice or the previous owner messed with it and they did it. What do you think?

Did you try putting the Famicom carts in backwards (with the label facing away from you)?  Some converters require that.

Can't be this, there's nothing that I know of that tells apart an American NES game from a Famicom game.

What do you mean pins are bent? Did that Gyromyte cart work in the first place?

well the converter itself has a detachable famicom gyromite chip and a 72 pin chip, the 72 pin chip on one side has these very small metal pins sticking out, 3 of them look like they were bent down instead of sticking out, as if someone smushed em down... no idea if that copy worked beforehand didnt try it as I'd been buying used copies of gyromite just looking for the Famicom to NES ones, this was the first one I'd found, I was ecstatic until I'd come to these issues... I had heard somewhere that famiclone games don't always work on Nintendo clone systems though? But then the Famicom games didn't work either.. so I'm worried the adapter 72 pin chip insert itself is damaged and I really really hope I didn't damage any game chips sliding them in both ways to test... I watched a tutorial video on how to use the chip, didn't help with the situation but anyone not familar with what I'm talking about it may help to educate a little: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7drnY7E0bAk

These are the pins on the detachable 72 pin part that I think may be damaged because they seem bent: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g226/greenr18/pins_zpsc6920168.jpg~original

Oh those pins. Those are just the pins from whatever component is on the other side of that board (I guess the CIC-chip?) soldered through holes. I don't think that is a problem as long as the solder didn't crack or anything. Check the pins in the black plastic part instead and see if they look bent.

Actually I somehow got it to work today, although my bootleg Earthworm Jim famicom game and my Zeta Gundam famicom game wont work :C either those carts are broken or the FC3 isnt compatible with em, i know theres some games it doesnt like.

Have to say Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and Plants Vs Zombies in NES gameplay format is awesome
