When I had my NES in around 1985...I was playing arcade games at the arcade still. I always enjoyed arcade conversions at home, but, back then, 25 odd years ago, I would look at the conversion in most cases as inferior I guess.

Fast Forward to present day, and I look at conversions in a whole different light, appreciate and love them for what they are, and sometimes even enjoy the conversion more!

What conversions do you enjoy on famicom may I ask?

5 of my favourites

Turtles the Arcade Game
Rolling Thunder
Spartan X
Arkanoid
Popeye.

Nintendo Child <3

Nightstar699

I'd have to say Kaiketsu Yanchamaru / Kid Niki: Radical Ninja is my favorite port on the Famicom... mind you, I don't consider "same name, different game" to count as a port, so no Ninja Gaiden, Bionic Commando, Rygar, Double Dragon II etc.

I've grown to like TMNT on Fami as well, as much as I used to bash it for how much it stretched the levels out compared to the arcade version. The additional levels specific to the FC port are my favorite in the game now. Spartan X is another one I seriously love.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

I like the FDS/NES port of Gyruss.  It's kind of like Gyruss+, since it adds bosses and stuff.  Great Konami music, too.

I like Gradius II and Makaimura and Mario Bros Classic as a starting set.  I'm sure there are dozens more and this is definitely I thread I will favourite :)

I really like me some Mario Bros, Dig Dug, and Mappy. I never played the arcade versions though.

As a kid in Canada in the early 2000's, the only arcade games you got to play were racing games, and shooting games like House of the Dead. I liked playing Cruis'n at the bowling alley back then. I also saw a Mario Kart GP machine but never played it. Now it's gone. The arcade scene is pretty sad these days!

This. Gyruss is one of, if not my favorite arcade game. I do not regret getting the FDS version.
