I ended up buying two of these things, just paid them and it will of course take time before they arrive.

After Googling more it seems that I will have some troubles hooking up those things wihout AV MOD, no RF box is included with those consoles and based on what I've read PAL TV's in here Europe will have even more troubles than American ones (NTSC).

This is the guide I was looking, it seems very clear and not that complicated (maybe)

I ordered two RCA ports already but I'm wondering about resistors. Are these OK ?

Capacitors I might already have since I have replaced them on PC motherboards and even if I don't, I have bought those before without troubles so I guess I'll find correct ones.

I also ordered couple 9V 1A power supplies which based on what I've read should work, they have negative pin inside, positive outside and the plug size should also be correct.

These resistors are ok.
This particular AV mod is designed for a specific motherboard revision. You have to use a guide that's best for your revision.

OK, I have to check when they arrive. One thing I can tell from the picture (if they really are what I bought) that the consoles have different kind of labels in bottom, ones where it apparently tells you to use HVC-002 adapter etc.

I checked my TV and it does have some settings for tuning, my TV model is Philips 40PFL3008T:

Whether or not these settings would allow me to tune so that Famicoms would work, both video sound, I dunno.

Just go to TV system and try other options instead of BG. Your TV supports analogue NTSC signal.

Okay, will try when those machines arrive. When I tried yesterday I was able to change Mhz-value to what apparently is Channel 1 on Famicom, can't remember if it was 95,75MHz but something like that.

Also, are video capture / tuner etc. card for PC usually compatible with Famicoms, could I use one to get picture atleast with PC? I have capture card but it has composite / s-video inputs connectors only. This kind of card could be one option for testing functionality, before modding.

So, Famicoms arrived and I opened first one for cleaning. Parts for the mod have not arrived nor do I have RF cable. I do have power supplies and I tested this first one with radio, I can hear game sounds so apparently it is working.

The board revision of this first one is HVC-CPU-GPM-02

Now tested with RF cable,.

I can get picture with the older Famicom (altough not good) but not sound. With the newer Famicom I cannot get picture, as far as I know they do have some differences in RF board design. I tested the newer one with the radio trick and I was able to hear music so I assume both of them are working but it's just that I don't have Japanese TV etc.

So I'll have to get them modded.
