please help with famicom

This week I got a Famicom from japan and the first thing that I do is plug in the wrong Ac adaptor, I plugged in the NES one and not the Famicom one. Knowing that this fries the system, I looked up how to fix the problem, the thing that I found was to replace was the 5 Volt Regulator that coverts AC to DC. I bought a new one and replaced it for the old one. Once soldered, and connected securely, I hooked it back up to my T.V. and plugged in the proper AC adaptor, nothing happened. There was still a blank screen. I don't know if my Famicom is just destroyed, or my game isn't working or what but I need help. This is a version 1 Famicom and did not have the shielding on the RC motherboard so I didn't need to replace a busted fuse.
Thanks to anyone who helps,

Yeah, that doesn't sound good. Make sure the 7805 pins are free of any flux or other gunk (clean with alcohol). Otherwise, the Famicom power board is very simplistic, the voltage regulator is one of the only easily breakable parts in the event of a power-related death. You should probably get another Famicom console.

The FC should display a gray screen if no cartridge is detected (aka CPU can't read PRG ROM data).

Did you check to make sure the fami is getting 5v and also is the fuse ok.

Yeah all it has on my T.V. is a grey screen.

I have no idea how to do so.
If you do that would be great.

Should I also replace the voltage capacitor as well? The console had a little bit of smoke when I plugged in the NES AC adaptor.

You'd need a volt meter to check for system voltage. Ground (GND) and Voltage (VCC) are clearly marked on older Famicom boards.

You may want to check the CPU (2A03) and PPU (2C02) chips for burnt smells. If that is the case, then the FC is toast.

So the CPU and the PPU are all good they don't have any burnt smell nor do they have any damage. I think that it might be my game that is crap, because it just had the blank grey screen when I turn it on now.

could it also be the capacitor in the C24 spot on the RF motherboard?

HVC-Man

A blank grey screen means the console is getting power, but the CPU can't read PRG ROM data from the cartridge bus. Try cleaning the game and cartridge slot.

Also the capacitors that I showed in the picture smell kind of smoky and the larger of the two has a bit of a bulge in the top, should I replace the large one?

HVC-Man

Burnt and bulging capacitors have to be replaced, yes.
