I asked this not so long ago, but, I don't think it was possible, something to do with a glitch....

As long as it works on real hardware (which I can confirm it does) it should be possible to make a repro. Plus you just linked to a seemingly working repro (if it works on an NTSC NES there's no reason it shouldn't work on a Famicom).

I think the issue is that you may not be able to convert an original DK cart into this - but it's certainly possible to create a working version on way or another.

The repro of this game (the NES version) had a glitch in it, IIRC

The original cement factory hack didn't account for bus conflicts, which manifest on some people's systems. This includes the initial retrousb release, since they used the same rom as everyone else.  There have been a couple patches put out to fix that but I don't know if they were ever confirmed to resolve the issues.

Assuming the patch fixes everything, it's a common donor and easy repro for anyone who does them.

I'd sooner have a famicom version if that is possible....
I know very little about this but have now learnt that the glitch might be in the NES Repro...I never knew this....
Thanks for help  :)

I see, I guess the bus conflicts doesn't apply to a flashcart such as the Everdrive. I think it uses CNROM or something (while original DK is NROM).

Here is a patch which converts the mapper in Donkey Kong from UNROM to MMC3.
Donkey Kong (World) (Rev A).nes - NOINTRO

Weird, the original game is NROM, not UNROM...  Unless that particular NOINTRO version is different?  A typo perhaps.

It wouldn't do anything for the cement factory version, since this patch can't be applied to that rom. It doesn't appear to do anything helpful for the original game either, but that guy has lots of mapper hacks like that.

I'm not a rom hacker, but I believe the general idea behind these mapper hacks is to allow people more PRG/CHR/mapper functions when it comes to extending games with code/data they otherwise wouldn't have space for.
