I got this game the other day. I like the dog companion, but dislike how you get sucked downward after slashing your sword in the air, and also how damn long the first stage was. Man.
But then in the second stage falling into a pit just brought me back to the beginning without any loss or life OR health. Huh?

Does anyone have experiences with this game? Like it, hate it?

I used to have this on NES almost 10 years ago. My friend bought it and then I bought it after I saw it in action. It was only a $10 NES game back then, I'm sure that now it's increasing in price. I believe this is going to be a cult-classic like Metal Storm or something :)

I thought the game was great and really deep for an NES game. I love the music and also the shop!!!  :)

Yeah, I have the NES version. It's a solid platformer. I've heard that the Famicom version is supposed to take place in Heaven (first two stages) and Hell (last three).

And yeah, it looks like it's gone from being a $4 game when I bought mine 5-6 years ago to a $20 one now. Typical of NES prices, where solid-but-uncommon platformers are concerned.

I've always liked the game. I even wrote a FAQ for it, many years ago!
