Hi there experts! I have an RGB modded AV Famicom and I would love to use the NES version of the Arkanoid Vaus controller with it. Is this possible? Presumably I would need to load the NES version of the game with my Everdrive, but perhaps that wouldn't be enough because of the pinouts of the AV Famicom on its NES-style ports??? I know I can get the Famicom version of the Vaus (both versions 1&2) and use the 15-pin expansion port, but I really like the look of the NES Vaus and will go out of my way to use it :-)

THANKS!!!!

Yeah, that makes some sense. Hamburglar is building me a NES to Famicom adapter for the NES Zapper, so maybe that would work.  :fire: :mario: :fire:

Yes the NES Vaus (but not the Famicom Vaus) supposedly uses the same pins as the Zapper (D3 and D4).

But since the two paddles works in different ways, they may not work with the same games. The NES Vaus should only work with NES Arkanoid while the Famicom Vaus works with Famicom Arkanoid, Arkanoid II and Chase HQ but not with NES Arkanoid. There is a hack of Arkanoid II that adds NES Vaus support however. I couldn't get it to work in Mesen but it should work on real hardware.

Also Chase HQ (j) patch:

Wow!!! This is incredible info! After reading, I think I'll get the Famicom Vaus (probs version 2) after all. Seriously, thank you!
