bad batteries?

My dragon quest games keep erasing them selves randomly,when I turn on my famicom it plays the cursed armor song then some text pops up and no more file.Is it because the batteries inside are giving out?

Possibly. The battery is like a watch battery that's soldered to the board. Replacing it is quite simple. I would suggest its worth a try.
