I have 2 grey Zappers "NGN-100" with 15pin connectors and i want to connect them to a US nes. There don't seem to be an adapter to buy.
Probably i could hack an nes and a famicom extention cable together, i think it will work but only on the second port of the nes.

Do you have any more info that will help me or where to find an adapter?

Also i searched for the ngn-100 lightgun and only found a couple of them on ebay or amazon but with the nes plug. I have no idea how i got them, i live in europe and i haven't ordered them. I used to have a grey nes zapper as a kid and while i was looking for it i found those 2.

I'm not familiar with the NGN-100 but I guess they are clone light-guns compatible with the Famicom's 15-pin expansion port?
As long as they are fully compatible it should be possible to make an adapter using extension cables.

You may figure out what to do from this schematic (which is the opposite adapter from what you need), but if not sure just ask.
I think light-guns and paddles only needs D3 and D4, GND and +5 V but you might as well also wire D0 (labeled "DATA" in this schematic), CLK and latch so that it can be used with any type of Famicom controller.
If you are only using a single NES controller plug on your adapter you need to wire all the pins for the 1st controller plus D3 and D4 of the 2nd controller to the plug.
If using two NES controller plugs you just follow the schematic exactly (though mind the orientation of the pins as they are in reverse on plugs compared to sockets). But I'm not sure there is any advantage of doing this. It would allow you to use Famicom multitaps in the main controller sockets, and although this is technically possible to use in a game, no game expects to find Famicom multitaps here since this type of adapter doesn't exist officially.

On the NES, light-guns works in either port but games normally only reads the second port. The only exception I know is Chiller which is an unlicensed game that supports two Zappers. This is not possible on the Famicom which lacks these extra pins and only a single light-gun can be connected to the 15-pin expansion port.
If your adapter is using two NES controller plugs only the 2nd plug carries the light-gun signals (D3 and D4).

They look like clones now that you mention it. There is no nintendo logo or something.

I will "hardwire" it to an nes extension cable, only GND 5v D3 and D4, i don't need it  to do anything else since i don't have anything else famicom nor i am going to buy something.

Thank you very much.

I see, well that should work.

There is no official 15-pin Zapper, the only official light-gun released for the Famicom is the Kousenjuu Gun (which means "Beamgun Gun") and looks like a Colt Single Action Army but is functionally identical to the NES Zapper.

Some Famiclones comes with 15-pin light-guns that looks like the official NES Zapper or sometimes other guns, I guess you got a pair of those.

I used to have a grey zapper with some other controllers and while i found all the other controllers, i can't find the original zapper. Instead i found those 2 clones.

I found a controller cable replacement for 2.5 euro on ali, i will try with that and if i am not happy with it i will buy a used zapper or a new clone.

Thanks for the info.
