That reminds me of Genpei Toumaden: Computer Boardgame. It almost seems more like a board game that comes with a Famicom cartridge than the other way around but I don't know much about it.

I was under the impression that the Famicom Robot was purchased by itself, then you had to buy boxes for the Robot Gyro and Robot Block games and setups... although in all fairness nobody's said "Famicom Robot" yet, just ROB, and yes, ROB for the NES came packaged with Gyromite. ;)

Is it considerably more cost effective to buy the Famicom Robot instead of ROB? I kinda want the thing but I'm not sure I wanna pay the prices for the NES ROBs which are often in lousy shape.

I have a CIB Family Computer Robot and both the Block Set and Gyro Set CIB. I read that the Robot came with the Block Set while the bigger Gyro Set was sold separately. But they still come packaged in 3 separate boxes with separate manuals. There's no way to fit even the Block Set (the smallest box) in the Robot box together with the Styrofoam and the Robot. They must have either come in another outer box or simply came separately but sold together.

Looks like Galaxy Odyssey came with some extra jazz...

Galaxy Odyssey is part of the Wave Jack series that consists of: Galaxy Odyssey, Kieta Princess and Seiken Psycho Calibur. They are all packaged in thick carboard-like boxes and comes with an audiotape with story, thick hardcover manuals that are more like novellas and other stuff like stickers. I heard all this extra stuff was included to discourage piracy.

Fleet Commander came with a fold-out map and some plastic ship models that you could use to keep track of the location of your fleet (and to keep track of where you think the enemy fleet is located).

Don't forget to add the tablet - as per this post:

I didn't photograph it, but it came with a copy of the game.

I would also split the Wild Gunman into two - one comes with just the gun, the other comes with the gun and holster.  Both include the game (I believe).

Hmm...I wasn't aware that you could get Wild Gunman with the gun minus the holster.  I thought the only way to get the gun without the holster was to buy the gun separately.

I think you're right about that ;)    Le embarrassment on my behalf.

Believe one could also add Barcode World from Sunsoft to the list with the adapter to allow the Barcode Battler II to connect to the Famicom. A similar adapter exists for the Conveni Wars on the SFC that does the same thing.

In this case, it'll be a pain to track down an adapter for my end of things due to owning a loose cart.
