Hello everyone :)

I have bought some pirates last week and with those pirates there was a bubble bobble card. Because I don't have a Nes / Famicom at the moment, I can't check if the label is right or what kind of game is in it. So I was looking on google for some information but when I enter "Bubble Bobble famicom" I only get search results of the FDS game. I just can't find anything about this pirate.

Mayby I searching with the wrong keywords but I was wondering if somebody here on Fw has some information about this cartridge? :)

Thankkssss :D

I have made 2 pictues for you :)

It's likely a port of the FDS game -- you can tell if you don't get free lives for points, if the EXTEND screens don't say EXTEND, but have cookies or other things, or if the final boss only takes like 60 shocks instead of 100.

I love when carts have those "remarks" labels on the back; 4 of my pirates have the same exact label. Does that mean they are made by the same pirate company?

JC

Pirate companies borrowed from each other, so I'd say no. You'll find variations of that label, direct scans and poor copies on other carts. It's hard to say really. Remember that most Nintendo-licensed carts have the same back label -- with exceptions like Jaleco, Taito, etc.

UglyJoe

One of my carts has a label printed up by a game store on it (has the name of the store on it, etc).

Mean old pirate companies, stealing from each other... shame. Lol.

Ah oke, nice :) Is it a rare item?

I really want to play it :D

JC

It's not very rare, but it's cool to own, especially if you don't have a Disk System. I'm pretty sure that every Famicom cart version of Bubble Bobble is an FDS port, but I haven't owned enough copies to say that with confidence. It seems it was easier for Whirlwind Manu -- the original porter -- to get their hands on the FDS version than the NES version, and then other companies just stole Whirlwind Manu's port.

Steev

Yeah, your right JC, it's a cool one to own! If you just look at the logo of the cart, those two characters are awseome cartoons :D I don't know how the game will be, next week a new nes will arrive, then I am going to test it out :)

is it true that there is a bubble bobble cart for the famicom? I thought it was only FDS and that the cart was from bubble bobble 2. If that is true, could somebody show me a photo or confirm it? Thanks again people!

UglyJoe

Disk only.  If anyone has it on a cart, it's a pirate.

lingolingo

AH, ok I thought so. Its just because checking the lists Ive seen FDS ported to carts and bubble bobble was there. Thanks1
