I found this page with a list of a lot of the special items that were not for sale...more to add to your grails!!  The most interesting that I didn't know about before is the Zelda no Densetsu special version.  It seems like no one has very much information on it, I don't know where it came from and how it's different.

Very nice link! I had posted about some of these a while back. I've seen most of them on Yahoo! Japan selling for outrageous prices. I didn't know about some, though, so that'll come in handy. It seems the Japanese were very fond of making special gold carts...Bandai is one of the biggest culprits of rare items.

Recently Kotaku mentioned a really obscure FC title auction and linked to this other site that lists obscure FC items. Probably most are known here already, but at least I had never heard about "The Gentle Physics and Science of Hazardous Materials".

I'm still hoping to find that Star Soldier Time Trial one day, tho.

Yeah, we posted about that auction in the auctions board. It's definitely a rare item and it's nice to know the detail about the company. You're right that most of the stuff has been seen. Actually, if you search YHJ right now, you'll find most of that stuff listed for sale, at various prices. I've only seen the Star Soldier Time Trial once, and it didn't sell at about $800.
