And again, if anyone has any tips of what to look out for when trying to figure out how to get a Famicom to work, (like a checklist or something) please let me know. I'm dying to play the real thing!

Did you ever figure out what's wrong? Or can you say whether it's the adaptor, RF, or just a burnt Famicom? It sucks that you can't get it working, but hey, I've owned a Famicom for over three months and have yet to play it. But I think the problem with mine is my TV not my Famicom. I'll know for sure in about a month when I have a new TV to test it on. And if the Famicom works, brace yourself for an ecstatic post from me about it. ;D

Can't wait!  I'm going to try getting an official AC adaptor first because it seems it's not getting any power, so hopefully that'll work.  If it does, I'll make an almost-as-ecstatic post as yours.

I've finally got one...and what's better is it's actually in my area, so I can just pick it up instead of paying ridiculous shipping priceses to get it over the Pacific.  AND it comes w/ a game (anyone recognize it?).  Bonus!

Awesome. :D I hope this one works out much better. I don't recognize the game by the label. Pirate or authentic?

Welcome back, JC!  And yes, I'm very glad to have finally got one (it's still in the mail, but you know what I mean...). Also, the seller has verified its functionallity, so as long as I take the proper precations, I think I'll be fine.

As for the cart, I never asked and the flash kind of blocks out the label, so I'll see when it gets here.  He says it's a basketball game, so I hope its the Japanese version of Magic Johnson's Fast Break, if that exists.  Slammin' Jammin' Basketball Action!  :D
