I know that Karateka was published by Soft Pro, but what's with NTDEC? NTDEC didn't develop it, did it? Did NTDEC put their name on licensed games they pirated? This image is from a multi-cart:

maybe they screwed around with the spirtes, you never know

Games with a NTDEC logo on the case usually have a title screen hacked.  NTDEC erased the original developer copyright and replaced it with theirs.  I have a Dragon Ball and a Hino no Tori like this.  Also, Double Dribble on my 64 in 1 and Mega Rockman 2 (from Brazil) have a NTDEC copyright on the title screen.  It's not for nothing that Nintendo sued them.

I figured that was the case, but I hadn't seen that before. I don't think the multi-cart I got this screenshot from is an NTDEC...at least it doesn't identify anything as NTDEC except for Karateka.

My 64 in 1 is not by NTDEC either.  It's a weird famicom cart from Brazil made by Dynacom.  It has some games that are not commonly found on multicarts.  Here is a list of games on the multi : http://www.er.uqam.ca/merlin/fd491499/nintendo/multi/64in1/

I just found this today. I've never known NTDEC to develop their own games, just steal 'em to publish 'em and hack 'em every once in a while. Anyone know if they might have developed this? The engine is different from any other fighter pirate I've seen.

BTW: I'm told this is the *best* unlicensed fighter ever made, unlike the others. It's allegedly got quick moves and very little sprite flicker. Time will tell. I can't wait for this to arrive. We may have finally found the best unlicensed fighter...though The Dragon (Bruce Lee) is quite good.

Fighting Hero III is quite good. Fighting Hero (ID#CN-01) is another game made by NTDEC but it's very bad. The opponent is hard to hit and there is a fighter I was never able to beat. Don't know what happened with Fightering Hero II??? Later games (ID# CN-19 to CN-29) made by NTDEC/Mega Soft/Caltron/Asder are actually fun to play.

So, NTDEC is responsbile for roughly 29 games? That surprises me. Are they different from the games made by Caltron? Caltron sucks.

Well... Caltron, Mega soft and Asder are the same company as NTDEC. I don't think the games are that bad, except for Destroyer which has to be the worst NES game ever! The difficulty is insane! Here is a list of Mega Soft/Caltron/Asder/NTDEC games. I still miss the title of some games. Asder released a controller with NTDEC games on it and there are some title I've never heard of (Dream Fighter, JP Ronny, Benico). Must be the unknown games. I have pics of these games and screenshots on my site [ http://www.er.uqam.ca/merlin/fd491499/nintendo/nes/ ]

Oh, nice. I've been to your site a bunch of times, and I've even seen the NTDEC pages, but I always thought they just stole games. I own Brush Roller and Fighting Hero III, but didn't realize they were originals, maybe because they are similar to Pac-Man and Street Fighter ports. I think our game list is missing a bunch of these NTDECs.

Do you have a picture of CN-17? I have this game on a 20 in 1 multi by Asder. Lame fighting game. One of the worst I've played. If you want to update the list, Adam & Eve is CN-11, and Super Gun is CN-12. Not sure why there are two CN-11. CN-08 only comes with the Brush Roller label but title screen is Bookyman.
