Hey all, I recently got a Dreamcast from a friend and a bunch of games, mostly shumps and fighters. I'm really enjoying them, but I dont really care for the standard Dreamcast controller. I know I could buy part and build myself a padhacked controller, but I'd rather use one of my existing controllers if possible.

Does anyone here have an adapter that would let me use PS2 arcade sticks on the Dreamcast?

I came across this on ebay but it's a little too overpriced. If anything has this for a more reasonable price then by all means let me know. Thanks!

Some people don't like the Dreamcast controller. I too use my Dreamcast for schmups and fighters and found that my hand cramps when I use the controller so I got that adapter and primarily use my Sega Saturn Pad. Not from that seller though, I got it years ago from some online site for maybe 20 or 30 shipped. I don't even know if the site exists anymore, not that I remember what site it was.

If you want an arcade stick, you may have an easier time finding a Dreamcast arcade stick.

No, I rather HATE the Dreamcast controller. In fact in many ways its quite like the Xbox 1 Controller F. The buttons are too far spaced apart, the thumb stick has no grip and the D-pad is as floaty as the Genesis but is smaller and like the control stick, your thumb slides off it quite easily. I seriously wonder how the Japanese gamer was suppose to use this giant hunk of plastic...

Anyway, even if the standard controller was good, I'd still be looking for an adapter. The only games I want to play on it are Fighting and shoot 'em ups games, and for that I'd rather use an arcade stick.

I'm very particular about what arcade sticks I'll use as well, and so I would require probably something custom built. As I'm not willing to vent that sort of cash for the parts to build another stick, I want find an adapter so I can use my PS2 Hori Real Arcade Pro 2 or my Mayflash Sanwa modded stick.

I'm not sure how this model compares to the first one you posted (the one I have) but it's certainly the cheapest one on eBay that has a VMU slot.
