Will my controller workkkkk?

so I just recently bought an AV famicom. its soon to be shipped so I don't have it yet to test this. But Its got the extra port on the side, for controller extensions and what not. Well it's the same plug as a neo geo aes/cd controller. Anyone know if I could USE my neo geo aes or cd controller on my famicom? that'd be pretty sweet.

It's a totally different pinout so no, Neo Geo controllers will not work through the Famicom's expansion port.

ya know, how like...the genesis controller works on an atari? I was hoping for the same here.

What you could do that may work is buy a neo-geo extension cable, cut it, and wire it together so the pins are routed correctly for the Famicom. Then you could plug your controller into the re-wired extension cable and use that in your Famicom.

That still won't work because controllers that use the Fami expansion port don't have their individual buttons/directions to each pin like the Neo Geo does.

Thanks for the help everyone! I was pretty stoked to use that d-pad stick for some shmups and stuff. Oh well....a guy can dream
