I hope it is okay to put a SFC question on here. I recently bought a SFC and was very excited to get to playing games, I began to build a SNES to SFC converter and inserted a SNES cart backwords into the SFC. It no longer powers on. Did I fry a replaceable fuse or is my beautiful SFC ruined? Please help me.

Without knowing what you built, or how you are powering your system, it.s hard to say if that was your problem. If you used the incorrect PSU, that could've done it, and your converter could be to blame as well. You didn't specify what you built, and by what method. Did you make a small PCB or just a heap of wires?  I don't think that inserting a game backwards would do this, but backwards can have two connotations in relation to the slot pin-out.

I believe there is a fuse on the SFC though, so check for that by all means.  :bomb:

I am powering my system with a Sega Genesis Model 1 Power Supply, which outputs 10V DC 1.2a   (+)---(@----(-) type. The actual SFC is 9V DC 850ma. The only thing I did was take apart a SNES game and insert it in backwords by mistake. Before this it worked perfectly. When my Gamebit comes in ill be sure to replace the main power fuse.

SuFami's are built like battle tanks, I am sure it just surged a old capacitor. Shouldn't be a difficult repair, I love my SuFamu about 10x more then a SNES.

I hve quite a few of them here too. Eventually I'll Retrobrite them all and start selling them with matching (factory) controllers. I have over 100 SFC controllers on hand, many very clean, and many need Retrobrite love. It's summer now, so it's getting on time to start doing that again for those long hours of UV exposure.  :bomb:
