Hi Everyone,

I have for sale a brand new Genius GB Backup Station. I recently got a used one to play with so I won't feel guilty using a new one. Unlike other backup solutions which require a PC to operate, this one is all self-contained. You simply plug in a game to the Genius Backup Station and use your own Gameboy to back it up.

It comes with instruction book, rumble support, 16-mbits of RAM, and can hold up to 4 game ROMS at any one time. It also has SRAM battery save/transfer in both directions between the backup station and your game card (great for duping Pokemon, though given the age of this device the battery probably needs replacing).

NOTE: The unit pictured is the used one I purchased recently. The one actually for sale is band new and still in-box unused.

Asking: $59 CND + Shipping.

Thanks,

NintendoKing

Is that also a clone GB pocket? I only ask because the screen shows shades of green instead of shades of grey.

Trenton_net

Nah, that's probably just my shoddy camera work. I do have clone GB systems, but this is a legit one.

NintendoKing

Very interesting, I would love to see that collection.

Is there a gameboy version of Famicom mass multicart? You know the one with hundreds of games?

Trenton_net

The most I've seen is like 64 games before repeats start becoming prevalent.

Haha @ GB Boy.
Chinese knock-offs are hilarious.
Kinda makes me wanna visit China...  ;D

I don't get why it seems to be harder to get more than 64 games on a Game Boy multicart than a Famicom one. As far as I can tell, GB multis can be something ridiculous like 16 or 32MB and considering that there's about 50 or so 32KB games, they should easily surpass that amount. Even ones that are 2MB can techinically hold up to 64 games.
Life is too short to be little.

<Shugs> Beats me. Probably cut's into pirate sales as they want more people to buy more carts?

Anyway, back on topic. (^_^); The Genius GB Backup Station can copy most games out there so it's a pretty useful tool. For example, if you don't have enough cartridges and you need to clone an extra for someone (like F1 Race) it works wonders. It's also good at swap meets, used game stores, and other places where you can instantly make a copy for yourself to try out and decide to purchase later. If your a little devious, you can also make copies of samples and unique prototypes too - though I don't condone software theft. :D

For what it's worth I had a GB multicart with 100 unique games. At least that's what the box claimed, it never actually worked >:0 but all the games listed were actual titles of real gameboy games, so unless they were *really* sneaky and listed the repeats under other games' titles I can only assume there were really 100 on there.
