Hey everyone!  I haven't been on this forum as well as some other forums for awhile since I've been rather busy and plus I just recently went through a really bad flood that came through my area because of too much rain but everything is alright now. :bub:

Anyways, I just recently purchased a Super Famicom game (Super Mario Kart to be exact) as well as a Game Genie since I heard that you can play Super Famicom games on an American Super Nintendo using a Game Genie but that's if you don't do any modifying to the American Super Nintendo.  The Super Famicom game was working with the Game Genie at first but now for some reason I'm having some issues trying to get the Game Genie to work.  My Game Genie has a little green light on it and the light is turning on so I'm assuming it's working (I even tried the Game Genie with an American Super Nintendo game and it did the same thing) but it doesn't want cooperate with me and I have no idea why. ???

Is there another better way to play Super Famicom games on an American Super Nintendo?  I've thought about taking the Super Nintendo apart and taking those plastic tabs out that's preventing me from putting the Super Famicom game in the system and I've also had thoughts about getting a Super Famicom but I'm not so sure yet.  If anyone has any better ideas than I do then that would be great.  If there is no other way then what are some suggestions that I could do with the Game Genie and the Super Famicom game that I currently have?  Thanks in advance! :redcart:

Cut those tabs out, saves you a lot of hassle. It can be done with a good pair of pliers even without taking the system apart.
If you're going to take it apart anyway to make it easier, I recommend taking the opportunity to clean the cartridge connector.

Hm, I don't know how GG are manufactured.. maybe it died or it's just very dirty? A converter I had did the same thing to me. Maybe it's a virus :p
More seriously, I heard some GG board were badly cut and pins not adjusted, so maybe it's doing bad contact. Or maybe SMK's pins are dirty.

Best devices to play imported games are converters, Unfortunately they seems to be uncommon in America.

@133MHz - Cutting the tabs out of the system was pretty much the best idea I could come up with so I'm probably going to go with that.  I never knew that you could use pliers to take out the tabs in the Super Nintendo so I'll probably go with that since I don't have the right tool to take apart the Super Nintendo anyway.  Thanks for the advice! :)

@MasterDisk - I do have some really good game cleaning solution and I always clean the games I get off of eBay just in case those games came from a dirty system and I don't want my systems to get dirty from the game cartridge's pins so both the Game Genie and Super Mario Kart are cleaned.  More than likely my Game Genie is doing some bad contact so maybe that could explain why it's been acting weird.  I tried looking up some converters and I was not having some good luck with that so I guess the best I can do is either take the plastic tabs out of my Super Nintendo for just get a Super Famicom.  Thanks for your help! :)

EDIT:  I just got done with removing the plastic tabs in the Super Nintendo using the pliers that I have and my Super Famicom version of Super Mario Kart works perfectly so I'm really glad I went with that method.  Thanks for all your help, 133MHz and MasterDisk! :mario:
