Howdy everyone!

I am looking for a brand new, unopened copy of Super Mario USA. I thought I would ask the fine folks of this forum for a little help in this regard :) If you have one and it's not dear to you, please let me know! Super Mario Bros 2 is my favorite game, and would love to have the Famicom counterpart.

This is a fantastic forum - looks fantastic. I was referred here by a member of Nintendo Age. Happy to have found it!

There is nearly no way to prove a Famicom cart is NIB as Nintendo did not seal boxes in Japan in any known way. Sorry.

But I am sure someone on here might be able to locate for you a CIB copy of the game.

I have a new and unopened one, if you look at the flaps you can see they have not been opened, but it's not really visible in pictures.
I paid a lot for it so I'm not looking to sell, but I thought I'd chip in to say that they are out there.

Thanks for the responses!

I think it is possible to tell a new Famicom game, whether it's been removed from the box. Box creasing tells the tale.

Still wishing and hoping here. If any of the kind members here have one, or know where to get one, please send me a message :)

I want to be frank:
A lot of people just don't respond when you look for NIB stuff, because it's often not worth the hassle.

If a seller hypothetically found one and thought it was NIB after scrutinizing it thoroughly... You might find that it has been taken out of the box and claim a Paypal refund, causing the seller a loss.
Only some people, but by far not everybody can tell whether a box has been opened or not.

As I said, for many sellers it's just not worth it.

Still, good luck on your hunt!

The tricky thing is, if you buy an unopened one - you're goping to wanty to open it to check everything's there!

I generally open all my new stuff, because it doesn't stop it being new and is mainly a security measure.

I have a few unopened Famicom games - the tell tale sign is whether there is a white line crease on either box top. Fairly straightforward to determine a new copy versus an opened copy (which may be new inside). Despite the box not being sealed, the box itself will show marks and lines if it has been opened.

Perhaps I should rephrase the ask to 'wanted to buy an unopened copy' rather than a new copy. I have had a few Famicom titles graded, with no issue.

I would never open up a Paypal dispute against a seller (does that happen on this site a lot? sounds like it) - I would know by pictures whether said game was a new copy.

But the thing is if e.g. I get one and send you pics of it I have already bought it. (Returning it because of the condition usually causes some costs.)
Many online stores don't provide good enough pictures (if at all) to adequately judge the condition. You'd have to trust their description.
I don't want to put anybody off, I just want to describe why many people are hesitant about the matter.

I think on this forum Paypal disputes don't happen very often. But on eBay there are seemingly lots of it.
That's why some people here are strictly against Paypal and only use irreversible payment methods.
