No sound on PAL TV

Hi, I've had my Famicom for a while now, and I finally managed to get it hooked up to a TV today. I'm in the UK, but my English TV can pick up NTSC video. I tuned it to channel 54 (I think), and I get perfect picture but no sound. I don't really want to AV mod it, so is there anyway I can fix it through the TV?

It depends on your TV. If there is sound subcarrier circuits and you can switch'em on, you will get sound.
