Gamecube port used for component out is a digital out port. Component cable converted to analog which means it was an expensive cable to make and I assume that would scare the aftermarket away. Wii has component out built into the system so the cable is just wires. Much cheaper to make.

CIB is over a hundred US dollars.  Have a look on eBay at completed listings.  They're much harder to find CIB that's for sure, but you could get one for $200.
