Hi all,

I bought a famicom specifically so I could then invest in the FDS. The famicom I acquired was relatively yellow free and overall looked aces. I sent it to be modded for av and much to my horror the controller 1 isn't working properly.

Just looking for advice. Should I try get a famicom 1 controller replacement or is it just the dpad that needs replacing? I looked on eBay and only controller 2 seems available.

Hope ye can help,

Al.

just pick up an nes pad and soldering iron the pcb is the same for both controllers even if you have never soldered before it will be stupid simple to switch the pcb for the nes one

Thanks for reply rosser. Dumb it down a small bit for me thought, could I just switch out the board from a nes controller and use all same other parts n also what alcohol would I use to clean it? What are the contacts?

Sorry for coming across dumb just I don't want to break my new "toy"

Is your d-pad not responding correctly?

If that's the case then simply open up your player 2 fami controller and swap out the rubber d-pad to your first player controller, see if that helps.

Rosser

yeah check all the rubber components for cracks and and clean contacts with alcohol

The pcb's are the same for exact board as the nes  so if the above does not work switch out the board and if the rubbers a ripped up switch them out for a new set from ebay again same as NES

Have you opened the console up?  After being modded did you check to see if the controller is INTERNALLY hooked up to the main board of the console?
