i bought an av famicom 3 years ago that came with this powersupply along with an adaptor that i have no idea what it does. i sold my av but kept the powersupply and converter for my other famicom since it never let me down. low and behold the adaptor has cable is broken and im not sure if it's safe to plug in my famicom with just the powersupply. could somebody give me some advice. thanks guys in advance.

oh i live in america btw  :-[

The ac adapter needs to look like this.

If you swap the polarity the ac adapter will work fine on your famicom and since its a universal ac adapter it will work anywhere in the world.

so that's what that adaptor did? swap the polarity? where could i buy another one?

Pikkon

That's what it is.

If you handy with a soldering iron you could make your ac adapter work just fine on your famicom,I've done it a bunch of times.

If not than this will work just fine.

the dimensions of accepted famicom power supplies are Outer Diameter 5.5mm; Inner Diameter 2.1mm. thanks for having me waste $15.
