How is this the death of Famicom collecting? You know you can still buy official real games from Japan pretty easily.

I don't understand why all these bootlegs and multicarts are so popular here, but I know you guys really like them :P

I feel the same about NES repros as I do about this Ali Express stuff.  I feel that things aren't worth collecting, if they can just be cranked out infinitely.  Where is the collectiblity of something, where you can get whatever you want, just by placing an order on the site?  It just doesn't make sense to me.

Let's exclude the Japanese stuff for now (since bootlegs of that have existed for basically as long as the Famicom did), but let's take a look at the pirate original stuff.  As we know, to begin with it is a lot harder to distinguish an original pirate original game from a copy, since even those games would end up getting bootlegged back in the day, to some extent.  Whereas with the licensed stuff, it is much easier to separate and distinguish, it is harder with the unlicensed stuff.  Then throw in services like Ali Express, and to me it just takes away from the collecting aspect a bit.

Also, couldn't you just download ROMS of these bootleg games and play on a PowerPak or emulator? Who cares about collecting the ugly and cheap looking carts?

Let me say something:

I'm not a collector.

I'm 12, and buying a $10 cartridge every month or so is how I play games. Plus, I don't have a phone or mobile device or anything, and I'm sort of saving up for a Hamy to play games portably.

It's BAAACK! Search for "8 bit game card", seller "Sindertech" has some stuff. Also, one to 59 is back too, so more 8 in 1s!

EDIT: w00t $10 Kart Fighter repro!!!
