For the Famicom AV.  The one I have now is this one:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adaptor-Converter-Famicom-72-pin-to-60-pin-for-nes-games-Console-Nintendo-System-/221331085349?pt=US_Video_Game_Cables_Adapters&hash=item33885c5825

The problem is that some of the black stuff at the top is starting to chip off.  I recently got on www.stoneagegamer.com, and while their adapter looks a lot more well-built, it says that it may have issues on the Famicom AV:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adaptor-Converter-Famicom-72-pin-to-60-pin-for-nes-games-Console-Nintendo-System-/221331085349?pt=US_Video_Game_Cables_Adapters&hash=item33885c5825   So, I'm not sure if I should try it, or not.

Other then those two adapters, I don't know of any others that are out there.  If there are any, it would be nice to know! :)

I have an adapter I use on my famiclone. It's really old (like more than 20 years old) but it looks well constructed. It's so well constructed it still works today with any game I throw at it (even Castlevania III). It has a shell case, the same burgundy color of the famicom, but it has no brand or label of any kind. They do popup every now and then on Ebay, so keep an eye for it. IMO, these are the best NES to FC converters there are.

Regards.

OK, thanks!  Do you know what the brand name of it is?  I just can't understand why that one that Stoneagegamer makes would cause any issues?

It's wired up improperly in such a way that several games are incompatible with it. Not only that, but the 60-pin end of the board is too short and doesn't make good enough contact with the pin connector. I owned one of those years ago and it was such a piece of shit that I wound up tossing it.

Wow, OK then, I will stay away from that converter!  Thanks!

I have four different converters and only one can handle Fester's Quest and Castlevania 3.  Runs fine with every other game so whatever.

For a cheap converter, the stoneagegame one gets the job done.  The rest can get pricey.  Apparently you can rewire a bad converter to work but I forget where on these forums the thread is.

OK, so the Stoneage gamer one can handle most NES games?  If so, then I'll order it.

2A03 just said it has problems with many games. Although it should be possible to rewire it so that it supports all games (including expansion sound for Powerpak and such), the short pins are probably the biggest problem.

I use the family converter, and I really think it's the best out there.
