let me explain

afair, super gameboy is using real gameboy guts. You want completely different device. You want the same thing as modding famicom into super famicom. Got it?

That would be way too much work to be worth it, you might as well just pick up a GameCube with a Game Boy Player.

I guess there are people who want to play GB on clone hardware and use GB printers

I really want one of those but RetroZone don't seem to want to make any more.

Got a SupaBoy a while ago, and the Super Gameboy works quite well on it, with the same sound issues as the RetroN 3. I also got a free SNES 2 from an uncle that had one in his shed, so I have the original hardware. Have an old Gameboy pocket that's just spare parts at this point. Found a cheap copy of Tetris for the Gameboy. Still tempted to get a Super Gameboy 2, but I wouldn't mind the link cable mod plug on the left side of my original Super Gameboy. Anyone willing to do it? If so, how much? I'll add a SASE with the package I send out, but I need to know how much to put in my PayPal account, or on an international Money Order, in order to pay for the labor. You can keep the leftover Gameboy Color parts. I don't need another Gameboy Color.

Wouldn't it just be cheaper to get a SGB2 and sell the SGB1?  Someone would have to be willing to do the mod for 10 bucks to make it work for you, what with shipping there and back etc.

I'm getting a Super Gameboy 2 eventually, but I can't find any cheaper than $40, plus shipping to Canada. I want to play 2 player games on my SNES, but I also wouldn't mind using my SupaBoy and a SNES controller for the 2nd player. If the Super Gameboy (either unit) would have had 2 player support to begin with, I could use my SNES, or my Supaboy, with 2 SNES controllers. As it is, I'd need either my SNES or Supaboy, a Super Gameboy 2, and a Gameboy Pocket/Light/Color/Advance SP. If I ever met someone with a Supaboy or Retro Duo Portable, it would suck if I had ONE super Gameboy 2, but nothing else for them to use, to play as the 2nd player. Getting a Super Gameboy 2 is a stretch for my current budget. Getting 2 is a DRAIN on my current budget. That, plus the point of a mod is to get what you want, by adding something to what you already have. I don't mind paying someone enough for a good mod and the shipping there and back, since I have the parts already. A Canadian near New Brunswick would be nice, though. That, and selling my Super Gameboy to get the SGB 2 wouldn't be that productive, as I'd still only have one Super Gameboy.

If you want a super Gameboy 2, I have a spare Japanese one that I would be happy to sell you (for less than 40 bucks). Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Yes Super Gameboy 2 can be found for less than 40 bucks - for example:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-GAME-BOY-2-Super-Famicom-GOOD-CONDITION-Nintendo-WORKING-TESTED-Cart-sfc-/310960296243?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4866ad9133

You won't find someone to mod for less than that, if at all.

By the time I got to the link, it was relisted twice. The second was $40 even, PLUS shipping. See my problem?

Nevermind. Getting one for a good price, as soon as I can get the money together.
