Hello everyone,

I am a French player, and I love the NES.

I come to you because I have a problem with an arcade joystick. I have an American NES, and ENIO BOARD XP to use db15 devices.

http://enio.chykn.com/wiki/index.php/ENIO_EXP_Board

I just bought an ASCII 2 Turbo stick

(the same here : http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASCII-Stick-II-Turbo-Controller-for-Nintendo-NES-Japanese-Famicom-System-TESTED-/310705889922)

And plugging with Enio Xp Board, nothing works properly: All directions going forward, the start button is poorly recognized ...

What is the problem ? Do you think my Enio Xp board malfunctioning ?

In advance thank you !

Chykn

Robby,
I just came across this thread.  Sorry to hear you're having problems.  The EXP boards and 15-pin header cables are tested after assembly, but if you have a multimeter I can help you double check it.  If it's a bad header cable it shouldn't take long to figure out.

The other possibility would be a difference in the way the FC and NES ROMs poll data from controllers on $4017.  The FC expansion port supports 5 input data lines whereas normal NES gamepads (excluding the light gun) only use one data line.

Thanks!
