Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for the SNES is the only way to play the first three, in my opinion. Its one of my most prized games.

Ugh, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy. :( Honestly, there are too many annoyances with the sound & music, as well as some glitches with the cutscenes, not to mention the fact that the sound test modes & the ending credits were removed, as well as the background scrolling effect on Ninja Gaiden 3, not to mention the lightning effects on Ninja Gaiden 2, I haven't even begun to mention the absence of the beautifully changing color palette of the HUBs of NG2 & 3.

Okay; I will stop making run-on sentences.

You should take a look at the reviews on Vimm's Lair.

Yeah, NGT is not without its own problems that's for sure. But playing it with a SNES fighting joystick is a lot of fun.

I might came a little late, but that "Ninja I" game is "Ninja-Kun". The arcade version is called "Ninja Majou No Bouken".

The password feature is also great.

But man the Ninja Gaiden games are tough! I beat the original Ninja Gaiden when I was a kid, but I can't beat the boss at the snow stage these days. Maybe I've got rusty.

Beating the original Ninja Gaiden is quite a feat; I think I only beat it fairly once.

FamicomFreak

The first ninja gaiden I never beat I only got to that last boss.

Which phase? I remember getting there & not beating it.  It sucks getting that far & having to start over again. >:( I don't know if that was a glitch or not, but it did the same with Bloody Malth. >:(
