I managed to get a 'Junk' N64 Hori Pad from ebay recently for a decent price, and it took roughly 2 minutes to fix.

If the C-Stick won't return to center, this is most likely your problem...

Carefully bend it back to center with a pair of straight nose or round nose pliers like this

And boom, you have a fully working version of possibly the best N64 controller out there

So the metal core of the joystick was just bent? Good find, what did you give for it?

the C-Stick

You mean the 3D-stick ;)

Sorry mate, localisation and all that. Over in Australia we refer to it as the Control Stick or C-Stick

Oh I see. Now that you mention it I think it was called Control Stick in Europe too (but I never heard C-stick), and also all subsequent analogue joysticks from Nintendo have been Control Stick. But in all my 64 games they always say 3D-stick and in the Japanese 64 manuals it's also 3D-stick.

When you say C-stick I think of the Gamecube's yellow C-stick (C as in C-buttons). So what do you call the Gamecube's leftmost joystick in Australia to not confuse it with the rightmost C-stick?
