Hello, I recently purchased a VCCI Famicom from Ebay, it's basically brand new, but every time I try to turn it on, the screen rapidly flashes/flickers, but the games show up and sound normal. However, because of this rapid flashing/flickering, it's impossible to play any game without feeling like i/m going to have a seizure. Is there any way to fix this?

How are you connecting the Famicom to the TV?
RF?
AV Mod?
Other method e.g. NESRGB?

OP mentioned the console is brand new, so I assume it is RF which is the most problematic connection technology ever created. Are you tuning them to channel 95 or 96 on USA TV?? As far as I know these channels are compatible with Japanese channels 1 & 2 and my original Famicom worked on RF by tuning my PC TV card to channel 95 USA and it looked pretty good but obviously not perfect

Yes, the Famicom in question is connected using RF out, and I do have it tuned to channel 95/96. I have it hooked up with an original power supply, and an NES RF Switch. The odd thing is that I can get the other Fami I have to work fine with this setup, but this new one, while it does turn on and occasionally works normally at random, can show the picture and sound fine and clear. However, like I mentioned, the screen makes a sputtering noise and rapidly flashes a bunch of static colors, mainly white, and you can still see the game inserted showing up somewhat while this happens. I have noticed that it flashes faster on channel 96 than on channel 95.

I can assume the RF is damaged, the console might still be "brand new" but it is still over 20 or 30 years old so it doesn't have much to do with "brand new". The only thing that can be done, as for all Famicoms Classics is to AV mod it and I'm 99.99999% sure this can be done on this unit as well, even though RF can be crap here

Hi here, can you make a video to show us :)

Isn't there a potentiometer on the RF modulator that can be shaked with  a screwdriver? Turn it counter-clockwise and clockwise alternately and then leave it in its original position and see if it gets any better.

I have recorded a video of the Famicom and exactly what it does when I try to play it. You can watch it with this here link, it's in the Folder I have titled "Famicom":

thanks for the video but I can not see well what is going on because it is very choppy with artifacts , I do no know is the video is broken or my player do not play it well, also \i am hearing a strange knocking sound when you turn on the famicom  ,very strange
try to blow up the dust inside RF modulator and clean it well also try on a regular CRT TV

The video plays fine. the "choppiness" and "artifacts" are what happens when I boot up the Famicom itself, and it makes a steady "chh chh chh chh" sounding noise the entire time it's on. And I would totally test it on a CRT TV... if I had one.
