Hello all,

I recently became the proud owner of a new famicom:)

Although it looks great on my shelf, I would also like to try and play it. Unfortunately it doesn't have an RF cable so I am trying to figure out how to connect to my TV.

I have a old Sony Triniton TV KV-25X5K (50hz) which has all the standard inputs you would find on such a TV. I am in Europe so I assume it is a PAL tv.
I understand that the famicom is NTSC, is that going to cause problems with my TV?

Would any of these cables be sufficient?

Thank you!

just use a regular shielded coaxial cable , but
in yours model TV user manual i noticed that NTSC is supported, but not from RF (only video in) , so the picture will be B&W  :(

If you TV does indeed support NTSC (through AV) you won't need that Mayflash converter, no matter if you AV-mod it or use an NTSC VCR. The VCR is just to convert RF to AV.

First I'd try an RF-switch and see if your TV supports NTSC through RF though. I know several people who got lucky doing that.
