Hi guys,

Is there an add on famicom controller with a longer length cord..
I know the Hudson honey bee and hector pads, I just need around 1 ft longer than originals..

Please could you recommend a pad, or do they work..or them and an extension?

I have an original famicom...with a front port...the stock on machine are so short, and I'm right up to the tv too!

Thank you.

I think most expansion controllers have a much longer cord than the built-in ones. Just remember that expansion controllers aren't supported by all games.

The built-in controller cords may be modded to become longer, but it is far easier to just use extension cords to extend the AV and AC adapter cords.

Thank you, P.

Are there many games that don't support add on controller?

If it's just a few, an Hudson pad looks good to me..

Thank you again.

Most games seems to support it. I mainly play using my CPS Fighter in the expansion port myself and seldom have problems.

There are more than just a few that don't though. Most games by Japanese companies naturally support it, including most of the launch titles with Pinball as a notable exception. Some games like Zelda II cartridge version and Super Mario USA that was made exclusively for NES had its expansion support removed for some reason.
Games by non-Japanese companies generally do not support it, with some Rare games being an exception.

There was a list somewhere, I think it was this one.

A power strip and an RCA female-to-female adapter (or RF extension if you use RF) is really the way to go. Only problem may be that when playing two player, the players must sit quite close to each other and the Famicom, might not be so easy for large adults.
