Greetings fellow fami-enjoyers :redcart: !
I recently had a very nice deal on a sharp twin Famicom that ended up somewhat being a head scratch.

Included is my first observation photos, as well as what I did to clean it up (one of my latest photos, it's further cleaned up)

I'm kinda baffled at the state whoever originally owned this left it in, the red wire was ripped from its 'repaired spot' so no video output is why it was sold as junk, I was able to clean it up and reattach the wires, I attached the red one to a nereby resistor (R4?) And I'm able to get video out :) but Im left with the issue of this floating comp port. I'm curious as to what people here suggest I do.. I was thinking of maybe buying a new port and see if it would clamp in like the original would (old legs are burned off) and hot glue it lightly to the shell Incase I need to open again? Or.. would I be better off asking here if someone has a spare board they would sell me? Another point is you can see in the upside photo, that giant cap looks like it's bulging, Im still not sure if this pcbs worth keeping, I could order a new cap kit.

Anyways, enjoy the electronic gore photo 🤣 as much as I like to see them it's not as fun to receive them!

I think gluing it down with some hot glue would be fine, honestly. People frown at hot glue repairs, but if the board's already in this state, why not?

As for the capacitor, yeah, definitely needs replacement. Don't get a kit though; those are, seriously, way, waaaaay overpriced for what they are.
Read the values on the capacitor, and get one like that. If you find one at a higher voltage or capacitance, that's fine; it's just a filtering cap. Just don't get one that's lower. Get a Nichicon or Rubycon if you'd like, as well. You'll still be ahead money-wise.
