Hello, I hope this post is well placed.

I have a project idea to make a optical drive enclosure with a (broken) Disk System unit. Ideally I'd like to find out more about it.

The external dimensions I can found on the site, and based on those it might work but I don't know the internal dimensions and I get the feeling it's going to be tight. Things like the battery compartment on the top and distances between screws posts could be a real issue.

The plan is to use a broke unit, but I'd still like it to be a no cut project. I'll also re-design the front plate to accommodate the optical drive with as many of the original design elements in mind.

There's no rush on this, but any information you guys can share will be appreciated.

I think there would be a lot of measurements?

Isn't it easier to buy a broken system yourself? Or just the housing? It's not very expensive.
