How do people such as yourselfs buy and sell safely on a forum such as this.  I just don't see how you can 100% trust that you'll ever get your payment or item.  If there is a way I would like to know so maybe I can start buying famicom games again.

Oh and sorry for my absence, I had final exams and whatnot.

Always use paypal. Always insure items mailed out are insured.

Most importantly, don't deal with people who seem sketchy or sound like they are very young.

The bottom line is that when you buy off of forums like this, you aren't buying safely.

If you're selling, make sure you get paid before you send out your items.

If you're buying, look for user feedback on the forums (our feedback thread) or ask for their eBay username and check their ratings there.

Paypal is a great way to keep your financial info a secret, but keep in mind that they won't go out of their way to help you during a dispute.

Postcount helps too. If someone has a high post count they've probably invested a lot of time in contributing to the community and are therefore less likely to be a rip-off merchant. It's worth checking their recent posts though to make sure they didn't inflate their post count with pointless entries.

Yes post count like mine wekekkekekeke anyways you gotta be careful but I never buy stuff for a lot of money just in case the guy disappears.

It's risky, but when you follow the forum activities for a while you get to know who you can trust and who seems fishy.

I've never had a problem on a forum. I pay attention to all the stuff people have mentioned, but I once even dropped $400 on a lot and the member was new, had about 3 posts. With new members, I make sure they provide me with legit pics of their wares before I buy from them. There's always a risk.

Mr. Gimmick

I've never had any trouble trading, buying, and selling on forums. Although there is some risk, I don't see how its less safe than ebay as long as you use paypal. Also, post counts and reference feedback from other sites can help establish who trusted members are.

I havn't been ripped off as a buyer yet.  But I usually only buy from people who seem trustworthy.

As a seller however I have had a lot of problems.  People will request an item from our store, we agree on a price and then I go out and buy the item.  The buyer then has a change of heart, or tells me that "money is too tight right now" or just dissappears.  This leave me with inventory that I don't know if I can sell.

Still I have found that most people are good when it comes to this stuff.  The people on this board seem really nice.  So I am hoping we have smooth transactions with the people here.

We're lucky this forum has a small, tight-knit community. We all get along nicely. The only complaints I've ever gotten from member-to-member buying is when people buy from young members, 13-15 year olds.

Exactly JC, I would trust selected peeps on this forum due to how tight peeps are here, also they are mature & honest when it comes to buying/selling.

Without discriminating the youths, they tend to have money problems & they can be very indiscive hence the reason for them not  completeing  transactions.
Plant you, feed you, grow you like a flower, like NINTENDO now you're playing with power!!

Or send you something not exactly like the item was listed as,
but for the most part I trust people on here.

I trust Chiaotzu the most as he and I have done quite a few successful transactions.
