What Famicom covers we have are mixed in with the NES section.

If you can find old VHS boxes, I find those fit nicely but of course they're massive.  Best bet is to actually make your own from cardboard you know.
Get some card and make a template based on an existing box, then print the artwork on a piece of paper and stick it on separately.

hmm... yeah i guess ill try to make it not look trashy. ill laminate it  :P thanks

I wouldn't laminate it personally, because the film will stop it folding properly, but if it was thin it would be fine.  Might be tricky to glue so bear that in mind :)
Famicom boxes were never gloss or laminate though of course, they have that eggshell effect from the ink used.

I'm going to make a template when I get back from an old box.  I'll test it and upload if it's useful?  I thought about making vacuum formed cartridge trays but it's tricky to get quality results and it's not cheap either.  I'm going to make a card tray, similar to those found in N64 and GBA boxes (maybe SNES too) because it's cheaper, stronger, and you can print details onto the card.

I'll get good results with this, so when I can test it and upload anyone who wants to can download the template.
Heck, if it looks good enough JC might sticky it on the site for future use.

I was happy with how my Batman Arkham Asylum cart came out, I still think printed paper is a better choice but I agree it's not so durable and I hate dog-eared packaging.  I will see if spray varnish looks any good, I've had good results with it on laser paper before, it doesn't soak it up on contact like ink jet.

Maybe you could buy cheap Genesis games and use these boxes?

That's actually a very good idea :)
